On a music honeymoon

I really cherish those times when you discover a new musician, book, film, website or whatever, and can just endlessly soak yourself in its greatness for days on end, never becoming sick of it. The book you cant put down, the album you can listen to 10 times over, the blog that you can read the entire archives of....These new discoveries are a big part of what makes life worth living for me.
Well, right now, I am on a big time Nick Drake binge. Just fucking incredible. I got to Sarah's house on Saturday and she had him playing in her room, and since then I have either being listening or thinking about this incredible music.
A member of the "died in mid-1970's in mid to late twenties from a drug overdose" crowd, I'm just amazed that I've never heard of him before. Such phenomenally beautiful music - just go and find some right now, I promise it will enrich your life no end.....

tom, give me some track names...
"I could have been a sailor, could have been a cook
A real live lover, could have been a book.
I could have been a signpost, could have been a clock
As simple as a kettle, steady as a rock.
I could be
Here and now
I would be, I should be
But how?
I could have been
One of these things first
I could have been
One of these things first."
One of these things first
The whole "Pink Moon" album is great. If you want a couple of sample songs, try "Things behind the sun", or "Magic".
Really liked Fly, One of These things first (from Dody's lyrical post) and his speeded up version of 'Don't think twice it's alright' originally by Bob Dylan.
Just went online to find some more stuff from him and i'm loving it. Also downloaded some more Xavier Rudd and Don McLean - i'm just rolling in soft, slow guitars and vocals right now!
A Volkswagen commercial in the US really turned me on to Nick Drake a few years ago.
Four people are driving in their VW Cabrio: Its night time, the road is curvy and dips through hills, forests, around bends and along lakes. "Pink Moon" is playing while the passengers are just enjoying each other's company and looking at the stars and the scenery of the country around them.
They finally arrive to a well-lit house on a lake, with a loud party going on and people everywhere.
The passengers and driver all look at each other and say nothing. The car's reverse lights go on, and the car silently leaves the party to continue driving through the night, listening to great music and enjoying their company.
I bought the Nick Drake CD shortly thereafter, and was about $10 short for the VW...
but wow, excellent commercial!
'milk and honey' is one of the most hauntingly beautiful tracks ive ever heard...cant get it out of my head!
