This clip of a Saudi cleric explaining how to properly beat your wife is pure poetry - you couldn't make more perfect anti-Saudi propaganda if you tried. Everything about it, from the smug look of pseudo-scholarship on his face to the mention of donkeys and camels, is just spot on perfect. It reminds me of the great Rowan Atkinson skit "Fatal Beatings", which I can still remember word for word after a friend and I performed in a high school drama class....

This is extremely disturbing...actually sickening. Those self-serving a**ho**s.
Fortunately I know many Muslim who would never listen to idiots like those clerics, anymore than all of us do not listen to the right wing of US politics.
By watching all the clips I see that this has been reported on American TV. Great. More reason to hate Muslims. More stirring of the pot.
pretty much every muslim I have known has been peaceful, nonviolent, friendly and loving.
unfortunately, there is definitely a large market for this kind of talk in the middle east - this guy was talking on LBC, which is a pretty popular mainstram channel in the region.
just like about 50% of americans and canadians follow the right wing of their national politics, judging by recent elections....just because you don't know them doesn't mean they don't exist and need to be countered.
selection bias can be an amazing thing - you can end up standing around saying "how did this happen? i dont know ANYBODY who believes in that...
